Azam Khan Moves Supreme Court Against ED Arrest Within 40 Minutes of Jail Release
Mohd. Azam Khan has moved the Supreme Court challenging his ED arrest allegedly within 40 minutes of his jail release on October 29. The plea also contests his judicial custody remand in the Dual PAN Card case.
Advocate Nizam Pasha mentioned the plea before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant today, seeking an urgent hearing. The CJI agreed to list the matter this week.
Azam Khan has also challenged the November 1 order passed by the Special Court remanding him to judicial custody. As interim relief, he has sought release from custody.
The plea seeks the quashing of the ED arrest as well as the subsequent judicial custody remand order, challenging the legal proceedings initiated against him following his release from jail.
The development comes after the High Court granted bail to Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan in the dual PAN Card case on October 29.
With the matter now before the Supreme Court, Azam Khan has sought relief against his arrest and the judicial custody order, with the plea expected to be listed for hearing this week.
